IT in our everyday life

Today I was thinking about information technologies. Sometimes we just accept what we have and we don't really worry about all the ways some particular thechnologie came through to reach us.

Personally, I get most of the information I need online: news, facts, references and reviews, information for my research paper... So only when one looses for a moment our possibility to use this modern technology (Internet here), one realises how dependent he/she is and how important it is.

Nowadays, many people speak about mobility, independence, fast way of leaving. And of course the producers of "the modern technologies" try to adapt. Only 7 years ago I could not imagine how laptop looks like. Only 2 years ago I've started profiting from WiFi. And what now? Now I am so used to it that I start to panic when for some reason connection disappears. Wireless Networking took an inmortant place in my life: at work, at university, even sitting in a cafe... For example, some my friends in the academy from time to time have to seat on the corridor in order to use their laptops being connected to the WiFi network. Actually, I don't know the reason of those troubles, but it could be some effects of interference from other devices (there are special spectrum analyzer tools to check it). So they really feel on their own skin how it feels to be left without a connection.

Maybe it is a bit ridiculous, but still the efficiency of my work depends on the working conditions and the efficiency of Internet connection for examle. And I would not be able to write these lines if our Network would stop working. So, guys, have a fast and stable connection!
