Keeping the topic of interior

Since I started to write about the interior today I will continue with lighting in one's appartment. Of course it depends which side West or East you window faces, but also it is quite important which curtains you have. They can be transparent, so you have lots of sunshine inside or the opposite, so you feel more protected from strangers ' looks. The easiest way is to buy ready made curtains and just to fix them as you like it. For me the colour is also very important as well as the material from which it's made. Just be creative!

Photo session

I want to share a good news with the readers of my blog = my friends (otherwise, why would you read this???). On Saturday at the academy we had a charity auction where peopel were bidding for a photosession taken by me:) It was great, it was the most expensive item and it costed 80 euros! That's charity, guys! That's why now, I have lots of idea how I will do it! I might share some photos with you if I will be allowed;)

Do you care where you sleep?

It's rather a provocative question, I know. But I meant it:) Well, most of us sleep at least 1/4 of they 24 hours periods. And it's quite a lot, that's why it's important to go to sleep and to wake up with some positive emotions (yes, that's the secret!). Therefore, it is also important where you sleep and how you bed looks like, or rather if it's exactly what you want to have as a bed:) To make it really cozy and nice to can use quilted bedspreads, so it will be comfortable and brinning you very positive emotions. That's not all, there are other secrets of course, more from the field of human relations, but is more about practice rather that theory...

Bison

Finally, I've discovered the difference between European and American bisons! There you go! The American bison is in Latin Bison bison and can be also called buffalo. While the European one in Latin is Bison bonasus, or can be named also wisent! What is interesting, the term bison is used in English, French (Bison d'Europe) and German (Europäischer Bison). While the term wisent only in English and German.

P.S. It is not to be confused with the aurochs as it's a different animal, by the way.

If you were a spy...

Sometimes you watch a movie about 007 or read the news about Litvinenko death and you think. What those people do as the spies? why do they do it? and how do they do it?

Well, let's assume one is a spy. What should be the best techniques to avoid any risks of being discovered? I guess, first it is even quite complicated for a spy to remember himself which identity is the true one. Since playing his role well, he de facto lives in a different reality and has to accept it as his primary identity. By anyway, going back to the topic of successfully fulfilling the mission. There are must be several rules, like avoiding contacts with people you know from your 'real life'; thinking about the reasonable explanations to the questions people might ask you (usually the simplest answers work the best); trying to get in contact with people you need through people they know and trust. Hmm, it seems not to be easy. And it is rather over surrealistic for me. On the other hand when you start thinking like that, you can come up with an idea, that all people around are spies and it's then paranoia. :D

By the way, starting June 28th USA Network's Burn Notice will present a TV series about the same issue. There you can find out more interesting tricks.

What is Europe?

The Economist surprises me quite often, this time it was a nice article about the meaning of Europe and misuse of this term. I especially enjoyed following paragraph:
So “Europe” means nothing geopolitically. Nor does it make sense in internal politics. The Belarus autocracy is “un-European”? Hang on: Belarus is the historic core of the late lamented Grand Duchy of Lithuania, once the largest state in Europe, an early modern superpower that was multicultural and multi-confessional before its time. Calling Belarus “un-European” is like calling Virginia “un-American”.
Not bad, eh? :D This picture is created by Kasia Schtirliz.

Jean-David Levitte

Who is he, that new advisor of Sarkozy in international affairs? :) Well, I've read an interesting article about him in Le Monde. His ancestors are coming from Russian Empire, according to the newspaper his father was Russian while his mother was from South Africa ("Son père était russe, sa mère sud-africaine"). But then there is an interesting sentence: "Sa famille a été éprouvée par les événements du XXe siècle. Du côté de son père : des Russes blancs [White Russians?], émigrés en France après la révolution bolchevique." Literally, does it mean that his father family was from White Russia or Belarus? :D Well, it's sth I would like to find out!

Jop applications...

Right now, I have a task to write a job application with a cover letter and motivation. It seams to be easy, BUT... it's not real, so it's more complicated as I really have to invent sth. Though in the next two hours I might look up for a real job ad and therefore I will have more motivation to do it!

What is the best age to start with Math?

My god son is 5 years old now and I've started to think how should he develop his skills. Should he just be able to read, write and count? Or it's useful to start to work on different specific subjects, like math, for example. Well, I could work with him myself (I used to love math classes at school), but I guess the math tutors would do it more efficiently. I went to the website of Score to check what they can propose. You know, first impression is really important and of course it's two factors: design and navigation. I have to say that it's well done and easy to digest the information, especially I liked a promo video. So, I will consider that school as one of the options!
