Milinkievič vs Łukašenka

Today I've read a letter of Milinkievič (Milinkievich)to the present president of Belarus Łukašenka (Lukashenka). Some people say that he shouldn't write it, but I think it was a good decision. Even if there will be no solution found, I do like when people try to find the way out instead of confrontation. I still hope that all what happends now in my country will lead to better understanding of value of freedom and independence. And I hope we and our leaders will be wise enough to built a strong economy and give people possibility to live, not just to exist and survive.

The letter itself is on the website of Milinkievič.

eTickets search results

I was trying to track where to buy a ticket for flights from Minsk and I found:
I was shocked! It seams that country which disappeared in 1991 is still alive. So, dear, back to BSSR!

One more destination was really nice! Have a look at this destination proposal!

And they say that your tongue can lead to Kyiv! No, China. So go and learn Chinese as they do in Belarusian primary schools!

In 5 years we will have a new economy

It's so interesting to read economic news just after macroeconomics class:D Our minister of (?) Korbut says that we are open now to foreign investment, but on the conditions which are good for both sides (investor and ?). And he says that we will modernise our economy in 5 years, what I doubt. My questions are: who will invest into country with bad investment ranking? Will we really let foreign investors to come or our gov just declares that it will let them come. And the final one is it Real Political Cycle model of macroeconomics (when promises depend on elections)? He he he:) (Info sourse: nn.by)

Russian boost in Inet segment

More and more money are invested in Rusian part of Inet. There is even South African (Naspers) company there and some other one (SUP) which has shares in Russian speaking LiveJournal. I would say, that's really impressive but not surprising:) one day, I hope there will be boom in Belarusian Inet as well.

More info on NN.by in Belarusian though:).

On-line communities

Nowadays there are so many new communities where you can keep in touch with your old friends or find some new mates. It's really amazing. You can start with My Space, for example (which I've never used so far), or you can join Facebook (this one is a lot of fun and you can really share photos, news and thoughts!). There are some regional networks (surprisingly H5 was really popular amoung Romanians), or some cultural, for example Latino-Friends.com is an all-in-one Latino Community website. People who are intersted in Latino friends should join this community. Though I was surprised because it is in English (so it's easier to communicate in fact). Few days ago my friend from Bolivia sent me a link to another community which was totaly in Spanish, so it was rather difficult for me even to join it not even speaking about communication in Spanish:) On the other hand it can be a challenge to overcome and to start speaking Spanish, hmmm...
The good role of online communities is undoubted, but it also fun when your friends are there as well. What we do, we create funny pictures with funny quotes and put it on-line, so then we can discuss and have fun! By the way, if you are really into these communities, then you will spend a lot of time there, be aware just in case!

Global warming

It's exreme winter as it's very warm these days. I was arguing with my friends that sth like this happens every 50-100 years. But they insist that it's result of the global warming. They say, that it can be extremely cold one winter and then next winter in the same place it would be extremely warm. Hmm, I don't know. I still think that it's not possible. At least I hope so. Anyway, I really enjoy warm winter!

Still looking for a new computer

Last week it was a nightmare in fight with viruses. At the moment you think there are gone with a new software you find many new. This was one more argument for changing laptop and software. So, I am online again to look for the best deal and maybe some good coupon code in order to save some money. At HP Home Store I found some options of HP laptops at price about 630$, what is quite good actually. The only problem is that I am looking for more powerfull laptop with Core 2 Duo processor...

Keeping your finances...

I would like to avoid any bookkeeping, but unfortunately it's not possible at all. So that's why people are always looking for quickbooks accounting. It would be ideal situation if bookkeeping were very simple.

Many small business companies face the difficulties to keep bookkeeping in order. They spend a lot of money to do it, though it's not always efficient. In out time you can easely start using some new technologies and modern software in order to run your business and financies in an efficient way!

For example, accountingparadise.com has a great system in place and inexpensive prices.

Looking for diamonts? Check out eBay store!

Last few weeks, I was trying to find a new computer on eBay, but I discovered that it is also possible to find not only this. Now you can also buy something really nice and cute on eBay, something like diamonts! I am not joking, it's true, you can buy them at the Diamond House Arizona, Loose Diamonds Section.

It is a new eBay store, which launched a new campaign. So almost all the items are for 30%-50% discount. Keeping in mind that the items quality is super high and with fine taste you car really find a nice present for your girl, or for yourself or for someone you like and care about.

At eBay works, you should check out the feedback left for the store before you order something. Customer support director of this store is always kind and can support you. Just don't hesitate and ask questions!

By the way you can get your money back in 30 days if you want it. And there is possibility to upgrade the diamond you bought, despite the fact that you bought it long time ago (even up to a year) and receive the the same price you bought it.

Fashion designer on-line

Some people just wonder how to tie a tie (four in hand knot cab be found on the blog I write about), others are really concerned about fashion. For all of them Belisi blog is designed.

It a blog of Peter Belisi, who Palm Beach style extrodinare:) I really liked the blog itself and I found many interesting tips and stories there (as well as nice pictures). It's exactly for "busy women on-the-go and jet-setting guys", he he he, it's just cool! In fact it's for those who are interested in fashion and want to find it on one page. Quick tips, commentary on who’s wearing what, as well as advices how you can put together your own polished look can be found there.

Maybe one day Katsia Damankova or Viktorya Makhota will be showing its collections, so people in Belarus will know much more about this fashion design:)

Walk in the city

I was outside today, walking with my friend. It's rather unusual for me these days, as I spent most of the time in front of my computor in classes... But anyway, I am thinking about different perseptions and different styles of life. Like, you do concider fast walkin useful? Can you see what's going on around if you walk fast and you talk to your friend? Should people work too hard? I think it's nice that is Europe people know what means to relax, to stop for a while, to drink a cup of tea or coffee. Because these things are also part of our life, maybe even more important than our work :)

Games forgotten long time ago are back!

I remember my childhood, when I was about 3-5 years old, I loved drawing first. Then, at the age of 6, I guess, I started to do some applications and to dress up small girls made from paper (you could get them at shop, it means your mom could, or to draw yourself). I guess many girls dream to be a modelier or at least a fashion model. And we miss our old games sometimes.

Recently, while making a picture for my Skype profile I've realised that I do the same stuff, as I used to do before. I created my own picture girl. So in fact Dress Up Games are back! Cool, now improved and more intertaining, so even big girl in a big girl can stop for a while to create your own princess. Moreover, now you can communicate with other dollsmakers:) On the dress up games blog you can find lots of information how to create your own personalized avatar. When this step is over, you can use your avatar in forums, chats or competitions. So, if you like fashion games, or it would be more correct dress up games you should definetly visit this site. Enjoy the game and be creative!

After well-known film and song...

I think this animation is really cool. So many people are watching 'Ne rodis krasivoy' on TV and so many of my collegues liked this melodie (finnish polka). So this combination is just perfect. And of course a bear (medved) which shouts 'Preved' to all people from Babrusk. This humour you can only understand in the contecs of Runet, Bynet life as well as a real one which is happenning offline some times...

Soap operas

Today I spent almost an hour looking through different parts of a Russian film "Ne rodis krasivoy" on youtube. In Russia this film was shown last year and in Belarus it's still on going, but as I can't see it here, I decided to watch some episodes. And I found very funny animation about this fiml (i will post it later as well).

The question is: why did I spend my valuable time on youtube? Hmm, for fun? yes, most likely. Despite all negative opinions people like soap operas. They like soap opera news, they want to see more. It's difficult to create a website with all soap operas, but you can at leas follow what is going in the similar movies in different countries. Like the mentioned one "Ne rodis krasivoy" was filmed after "Betty La Fea" as well as "Ugly Betty", I guess. So it would be interesting to see some news about such fimls as well:)

Post photos story

Well, well, well... Story with photos after ball is almost over. They are online now and mostly everyone is happy. Although as always there will be some piople who will ask me to delete some photos, but it's ok:)

Mortgage calculators

Some people start to panic when they hear words like mortgage or loan, and I am one of them. To calm down you need to find more information about a particular issue and to understand how it works! For example you can find mortgage rates in order to calculate your future financial responsibilities and to get the good ones:) You can also use mortgage calculator to understand how to deal with it. So you need to put a small effort to get a better result:)

Gossips

Hmm, people like gossips, I guess it's their nature:) And it's so funny that due to misunderstanding or just having great imagination people spread such a funny stories. On the other hand it would be boring to live without them, it means in fact without communication and socializing ;) However here are mean only nice tales:)

Performances at the Officers ball

PPP announced a PayPerPost Concert, which I decided to join:) So, there you go:

We came to the ball at about 8.30 pm and the opening ceremony started at 9.30. In the beginning it was rather boring with all these important people walking through the hall with nice officers and their ladies on both sides (they had to stay there without movement for about 40 min!). But then there was really nice concert of officers and it was cool. One of them even played accordion on his head (unfortunately I didn't catch it). But at least you can see him!

Saturday

During the day I had many visitors. You may wonder why? Hmm, yesterday we had a ball and... I will start from the beginning. I'm perfectionist/idealist. I want all people to be on the right places and to do their job properly. That's why I like mostly everything I do (I mean I enjoy what I am doing) and I try to do it good. As I my passion is photography I do quite good pictures when I am in the mood for taking pics. Few weeks before the ball I decided not to take my camera there and just to dance. Hmmm, do you think it worked out? NO! I was asked several times to take it and to take pictures. So people trusted me and were expecting some nice pics. And it was in a way responcibility, though I didn't really promise anything to anyone:) Well, in fact I was a bit stressed and annoied, but afterall I took some nice shots and everyone will be happy when I will put them on-line. Though I will have no peace till that moment! To sum it up: it's nice to be a photographer, but sometimes it's better just to be photographied:)

Adolescent treatment program

I was just thinking about my friends and myself, in fact we are lucky to be healthy and happy, but we should always keep in mind that there are others. Those who are in truble and who need help. The adolescent treatment program is created for such people. A program with a unique and positive approach Echo Malibu is created to help adolescents. First of all to help those who can't recover from drug, alcohol or behavioral problems. You just can't imagin how important is for these people to have someone who can listen to them and help to return to normal life without alcohol and drugs.

I will not publish it now here you better wait and see it in action!

Helpful stuff for Ebay users

Last few days I was looking on US and Austrian eBay for Weight Scale. I typed it in so many variations and even in different languages, so I am loosing my patiance now. Alghout I found some item, but still I am not sure neither about delivery, neither about design and/or quality. So I need to make search again... Now I've found a site Ebay Typos, which helps with all possible misspellings on eBay and helps to search for you item. I've tried it for my "weight scale" and it gave me 77 more different possibilities. Therefore, I guess, I will spend next hour again on eBay checking all possible goods! So I will search ebay with all possible ebay misspellings! And it's gonna be fun!

New phone for free!

I admire mobile operators which distribute as a promotion new phones! It's great thing as you pay only for service and you dont have to pay for the phone itself. You take you phone and you go talking to your friends or mum (or your mum talkes to you, as it usually happens).

Recently there were published top 10 cell phones of 2006. Among the phones you can see a real diversity (RAZR, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Samsung ...). I am really surprised that there are no Nokia phones there. It's a little bit strange, but anyway it's good to know what is is popular and what you can get from T-Mobile for example. Recently I got a new phone from my operator, which is also from Sony Ericsson and I was hesitating if I should take Nokia with less functions or this one, which is just sweet. So that might be a reason.

It's also interesting to read about last year trends:
1. Popularity of music and mobile TV increased (camera phones, music capabilities, Walkman branded phones - I prefer phones without camera, as usually they are poor cameras, but with music!)
2. You can select a variety of smartphones(exciting smartphones and Pocket PC's - my friend uses one of them)
3. Producers started to create cell phones for children (Disney Mobile - what is this???)
4. GPS services are more and more popular, therefore they are more developed now (Yep, Google gives you Satellite maps and phones give you function of GPS, cool, what else can I say?)

International laws

And back to my exams. At the moment 3 different courses are over: International law, Decision making process in EU, Institutional law of EU. Wow, it sounds really exciting, isn't it? At one exam I got A-, next grade I will most likely know tomorrow and one more exam is in two weeks. Hopefully I will pass that one. Today my collegues were passing exam in international law much longer that our group last week, so it's a bit frustrating, I mean to know the grades.

If you think that it's over, you are mistaken. Intenational economic law is coming really soon:)

International law in action!

Just in a week after passing exam in international law I found two websites of a firm which deals with international law Firm. What is interesting this firm works on very tough international markets like Russian, Vietnamese and Chinese, although it's a small firm with main focus on small and medium sized businesses. So I guess it's a great help to American and European firms with interests at those regions.

I glanced through the list of its clients in Russia. I was surprised to see there Fishery Kolkhoz "50 Years of October" for example, so if this Kolkhoz is working with an international law firms, it's a huge step towards international markets. Amongn their clients are also: Kirov Kolkhoz, Sakhalin Leasing Flot, Vladivostok Marine Fisheries College, Sakhalin Shipping and many others. It's really impressive.

I've learned also that Harris & Moure are the writers of the highly regarded China Law Blog. So, presumably this firm is also a good expert at Chinese market and knows domestic laws as well as international. Actually, it's really interesting how domestic law in China differs from European.

And I baught my grammar book today, cool!

Shopping on-line

I am back to the issue of shopping on-line. So many people do it these days, and I can understand them - it's so easy. Though you should be very attentive and read description of products, especially when they are not cheap. I am looking for a tripod now, so I found a binoculars shop where they have it as well. At Eagle Optics they have variaty of different optics and optic related stuff (cameras, books included). Of course, first of all binocular and digital ones (technology!). I wish I could buy one of them! :)

New notebook

My experience in on-line shopping is growing:) I am going to buy laptop on-line, so I am really excited and scaried at the same time. I am spending hours on eBay (back to time management:) and I really want to get a goot note, so I can use it for many years:) Wish me good luck and keep your fingers crossed!

I have good news also, my friend from US is coming to see me. Hoooora, we will have fun! In the modern world it's great to stay connected via Inet, but quite often we don't see our friends for months...

Time management or where time is wasted?

Every day I think about time which is lost somewhere. Of course, I can't exactly say where it was wasted. It's really pity, as I have to do lot's of things and I ran out of time most of the time. Maybe I should buy some time management guide, eh? I don't know. I could be really useful, but it takes time to read it. So it's time again and there is no 100% garantee that it will be useful:)

Well, some advices to manage time:
- Take control of your projects and tasks. Easy to say, but difficult to do, as they are all the time out of control.
- Build and use a to-do list that really works. How? I have so many...
- Delegate tasks effectively. Yes, I think this one is useful, but again how, if people don't like responsibility.
- Get your workload under control. This one is the most important for me. I will try, I promise;)

We all know that Art is not truth. Art is a lie that makes us realize the truth, at least the truth that is given to us to understand.

But I have good news as well. My group mate is a photographer and he knows an email of photo editor there, so maybe there will be some progress:)

I found a report of World Bank about Belarus on-line. From that site I went to stats about population in Belarus. This numbers are really interesting. Decrease in population is obvious with every year, more and more. It's frustrating. At 2005 total population was only 9.75 mln, although in 1990 it was 10.19 mln... No comments.

Audio resume

During my French lectures at the academy I've learned about different kinds of Resumé, including anonimous one. This time I've learned a new one - AUDIO! Sounds interesting? Yes, it is. If fact you make an audio interview for future imployers, so they can hear you! You can learn more about audio resume on the website of the company which provides this service. And maybe try it! ;)

Back to Minsk: friends

Every day I meet with my friends. Only when I meet them I realise how much I've missed them:) It's strange, but it is like it. I bet when I am back to Vienna, I will be happy to see all my friends there.

We grow up, we are 'serious' people now:) He he he, new achievements, new fun stories, some romantic stories... REAL life!

Back to Paris

City of my dream, as it used to be:) I love it! So, here is the view from Google! Posted by Picasa

Under suveillance or not?

Today I dicovered for myself a new post service. You can order special mailboxes which you use for different purposes. This service can be interesting first of all for those who care about their privacy and prefare to keep their address private:) This company operates in US, Ireland, Canada, Switzerland and other places of the world.

What was surprising, it's the following quote:
Postal authorities use a little known surveillance technique known as the "mail cover", which operates informally and allows them to investigate your mail without having to first obtain a court order, a requirement in most countries. 'The mail cover' is simply an instruction to the mail carrier requesting that they note the return addresses on mail delivered to any address under investigation.
Normally you don't think that your mails are under surveillance. But in fact, I think, it happens quite often. Especially in certain states. No Demand - Do Supply, as they say in economics. :) Yesterday one my friend told me that his American friends never use Gmail, as they are unaware about their privacy and they never know when stored information can be used against them... Quite interesting.

NE greetings

In this time of the year you realise how many friends you have and greetings from different coners of Europe are coming all the time, and not only Europe. This year I really enjoy this season! And sending lots of greetings also!

Today I dance!

And I dance on-line:) You can see it here.

Snow disapeared, and gaz gonna also

No snow anymore. Weather forecast is that we will have +3 during New Year night... It's not fun at all. And today it was really cold and windy... It's scary what we will do on the 1rst if there is no GAZ...

Snow in the city!

Today I've seen first snow this winter! So, hopefully this New Year will be with snow if nothing changes. And maybe if I have luck I will ice skate!

Is credit a debt?

Gaz issue is keeping whole Belarusian society under permanent pressue. Although not all people realise the possible results of this situation. In fact now we have last months when people can get credits...

In out society many people prefer to live withing they incomes, but it's not always possible. For example, you want to buy a flat for yourself, but you don't have money. Then credit is almost the only possibility for you. However, then something can change in your life and you are not able to pay in time. What can you do? DebtHelp.com is a website, which is helping people with advice in such situations. They solve problems of Americans (which by the way all live in credit, it's just American custom:) with unpaid credits. So, service, I guess it quite useful. Have a look if you have a problem, or just keep in mind just in case:)

And I do think that credit is a debt. It's better to have credit in bank than to borrow money from some bad rich gues anyway!

Сircus in local court

A crowd of people spent many hours in front of one of Minsk courts waiting today when two young men will be judged. If I can call it judgement.

As I wrote before, an Friday evening police forces (including special devision and KGB) 'entered' at concert at privat appartement and arrested about 20 people. In big car (MAZ) they were sent to police office. After while all except two mentioned above were released.

Todays version was slitely different. Two policemen noticed at streed near the building a group of people (2!) who were shouting and swearing. They asked those two to be quite, they didn't obey and two policemen called for a car - which is MAZ again (a huge one) - so guys were arrested.

What is court decision? Who is right? Whose story is nicer? Guess! Of course policemen's:) Who doubts? 5 days in jail for both for swearing in public place...

Fun of shopping

I am really excited about shopping on-line again and again. Today I got my stuff from OTTO which I've ordered on-line. Last week I got my fist book from eBay, and actually I expect few more from there! And tomorrow my books and CD will be sent to me from Amazon in France! Urrra. I enjoy it so much, no stress, no queue, you just observe and enjoy buyin stuff you need! When I was looking for goods at Amazon, I spent few hours looking for some coupon code to have a discount:) (people love discounts!) Unfortunately that time I didn't find any I could use, maybe next time I will be more lucky:)

Just Merry Christmas!

Which cell phone operator?

I spent 3 month abroad, but I didn't switch to a local mobile operator. Why? Is it loyalty to my national operator? Hmm, I don't think so. No time, no need, no motivation, in fact. But the problem also is that it's sooo difficult to choose what you don't know the real situation on the market to judge. Well, I will try to get more information and will have finaly a new number :) in the next year...

Travel and accommodation

Many of us love to travel and you know how difficult sometimes to find a good hotel. Well, while planning your trip we usually want to find the best place at a good price. There are many websites which can help you, Hotel Reservations is one of them. I've tried to track the hotels in Vienna and I found out that the prices car vary from 47$ up to 193.08 for a single room. Hmm, not bad. Let's have a closer look on other cities. Which one? Minsk. Surprise, surprise. Only one hotel - hotel Minsk, which is also the most expensive. Well, I don't think it's a problem of the site. Most likely it's again and again lack of PR of Belarusian tourism and Belarusian hotels. By the way cheapest hotel in Paris is 15 km away from Paris and costs 43.

What is a bit funny, on the website they give a phone for Europe and include Australia in it:) I found interesting travel tips. They mention very curious facts about history and present.

By the way at the site there winter proposals and discounts. Also there is a special proposal if you book on-line or make special internet rate reservation over the phone you can get discounts up to 70%.

So I hope it will be useful for all of you, especially for those who do not liberal enough to use Hospitaly Club network for example.

Chatrooms as Social Networking

I am not quite sure if some people are still using chats for communication, I guess there are some for sure (I prefer blogging and emails:), as well as IMs:) Anyway, I want to remind those of you who forgot that chat room still exists. Chat room is a way to communicate with group of people on-line. It is fun and exciting as in the most of cases you don't know people you talk to and also you can meet some really interesting people for conversation. :)

Home, sweet home

I am back for Christmas. So despite the exams which I have immediately after return to academy I have lots of time to see all my friends and to do all work which I have to:) The last part is probably not very exciting, but still very important. Cool!

Christmas

Today I spent 4 hours in the city walking through several Christmas markets. Chrismas is really in the air! I can't believe that I will be home just in few days!!! Christmas, New Year, Birthday, Chrismas again - same story from year to year, but every year so different. I think that the past year was really good for me, some of my dreams came trough (others didn't). I foung many new friends which are great people. I've visited new countries - Austria, Germany and Finland. I've seen new Picasso paintings. Year, it was a good year if you keep in mind only good things! Merry Chrismas and Happy New Year!!!

Photos, photos, photos

During last three months all my collegues in the academy got used to see me with camera and they know now that it's difficult to escape from me, when I really want to take a photo:) Well, it's really fun to be able to "fix" in your memory (or in the memory of your digital camera) the moment which are nice or interesting. I bought my own camera only last year and since that time I keep taking pictures. Well, at least time I am not that crazy (in Paris during one week I took over 1200 pictures), I have not more than 100 during one day ;) (with some exceptions).

As I wrote before in my blog I was accepted as a photographer at IStockPhoto, and I was extremely happy. Though so far despite that accepted me as a photographer they have not accepted any of my photos. The main problem is that with my present camera my best shots are just not perfect. For example, photos which I take inside need some extra lighting, or they are a bit blurred, or sth else happens all the time... It was my dream since 4 years to become a Lonely Planet photographer, I even met one last year. But I was told that I can be a photographer for Lonely Planet untill I get a 6MegaPixel camera...

Well, today I went to PPP webside to find out that they have a very nice digital camera for they users to get. Though only 6, so I'd love to be the lucky one :) (who doubs?!) It would be a perfect gift for my birthday which is really soon or a Christmas gift (Should I write a letter to Santa or it's too late?). So, guys, please, keep your fingers crossed for me!

Lack of PR for the country

I am really tired to see how foreign newspapers misuse the name of Belarus. Again and again I see the same mistakes (I just hope that it's not on purpose). Yesterday Le Monde writting about Belarus and Russia in GAZ conflict, wrote La Biélorussie instead of Le Bélarus. I will write them an email if I find their address...

When you plan to multiply:)

Have you ever thought of Cost of Having a Baby. It can sound ridiculous, but in fact it's true. To have a baby it is costly. Why? Well, I admire my friend from Lithuania who at age of 26 has 3 children, but one has to remember that he/she (or both, what is better) has to support this child before even baby is given birth and life-long. I mean, it is certain responsibility. I've read statistics recently that in Belarus every 4 min one person dies and only every 6 min one is given birth. Just two minutes, think about it! But population is decreasing rapidly due to this two minutes. Of course people are looking for the best conditions and they wait for comprehensive maternity service package, it's normal. I hope that one day situation in my country will change and girls will not panic when they find out to be pregnant ;), just the opposite, I hope all of them will be happy! :) So, people, don't wait, multiply (a bit of a joke, but in fact true)!
